It is an official document confirming your criminal record status in Nigeria. It may be requested for travel, immigration, employment abroad or other official purposes.
Will I need to do biometrics again?
Not necessarily. If you completed biometrics for a previous Police Character Certificate within the last three years, you may be able to use your existing biometrics. We’ll confirm this after reviewing your details. If a new capture is required, it is completed in Ikoyi, Lagos.
How long does it take to get my certificate?
The timeline depends on whether a new biometrics capture is required. If biometrics are required, scheduling usually takes 3 to 5 working days. The certificate is usually ready within 1 business day after the required processing step and is sent to your email.
What if I've never captured PCC biometrics before?
If you have not completed PCC biometrics before, we’ll guide you through the new-capture process and arrange the applicable biometrics appointment.
